Overview

The tallest skyscrapers, fastest cars, hottest parties and fanciest hotels. Water sports, sand sports and air sports. Frenzied shopping extravaganzas, glitzy malls and traditional souks. A beautiful coastline and an exotic desert. All this is one city. All this is Dubai. Whether it’s a family holiday with the kids or a quick business trip, a romantic getaway with your significant other or a raucous holiday with your friends, Dubai promises a fun-filled, unique experience for every kind of traveler. Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the UAE. In recent times, it’s seen a large influx of travelers which has made it develop into a thriving tourist hotspot. Unparalleled shopping experiences draw thousands to the city every year, as do the promise of adventure sports. The city-state is divided into many districts, mostly on the basis of settlements. Little India and Little Manila refer to colonies highly populated with Indians and Filipinos respectively.

Program Highlights

These areas have shops and restaurants that cater to the inhabitants’ tastes. Many describe Dubai as flamboyant, glitzy and modernized. There is, however, a more traditional side to the city, especially during Ramadan, when the Emiratis proudly perform their song and dance. In a game of word association, when you think ‘Dubai’, you think ‘shopping’. Known as the shopping capital of the Middle East, the annual Dubai Shopping Festival draws hordes of people from all over the world. With the promise of best price and best quality, nowhere else in the world you can find everything you’re looking for at negotiable prices. Dubai’s colossal malls and widespread Souks (or local markets) offer jewelers, clothes, vehicles, electronics and under the same roof.

Trip Highlights

Mark Twain once wrote that ‘Mauritius was made first and then heaven, heaven being copied after Mauritius’. For the most part, it’s true: Mauritius is rightly famed for its sapphire waters, powder-white beaches and luxury resorts. But there’s so much more attraction to Mauritius than the beach, and it's the kind of place that rewards even the smallest attempts at exploration. There’s hiking in the forested and mountainous interior and world-class diving and snorkelling offshore. There are boat trips to near-perfect islets and excursions to botanical gardens and colonial plantation houses. Mauritius is a fabulous culinary destination with great wildlife watching thrown in. And the real Mauritius away from the beach resorts – a hot curry of different cultures and quiet fishing villages – is never far away.
